the state of the blog

What to write in my inaugural post...

Well, to start off, I just finished my first ever sweater. I had quite a bit of trouble with it; the first time around, I made a size too small, the second time, I struggled with the neckline. What I should have done, was to make the sleeves in the smaller size, but done the bust in the larger one. Oh well, hindsight is always 20/20. I did make some minor modifications. The neckline kept rolling down too much, I ended up adding a second row in the rib, and in that row doing a k2tog at each shoulder seam, in each front corner, and two more evenly across the back for a total of 8 decreases.

Some WIP news, I'm working on a pillow cover. There really isn't a pattern, it has cables of various widths and doesn't always turn the same way, but I like it like that. Organized chaos. At first glance, it's like, "wtf?" but if you look closely, there is some semblance of order.

I got bored with the cabling, so I whipped up a mini-scarf with the yarn left over from my mom's christmas present. Really easy, CO4, *k1 yo3,** repeat from * to ** as many times as desired, bo, weave in ends. Simple, but cute.

I think that's all for now, folks.
